VECs throughout the country provide second level education to nearly 100,000 students in 247 schools.

More than 200,000 adults each year participate in VEC adult and community education programmes. A wide range of learning opportunities are available through local VECs to people who want to improve their skills and qualifications and to those seeking a second educational chance.

The VECs run these further education and training programmes in schools and colleges, adult education centres of education, workplaces and in a variety of community settings.
